The 2026 edition of the DER_People initiative, held on April 29, proved to be a clear success, bringing together a significant number of students from all study cycles, academic staff, and non‑academic staff of the Department of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering.

The event provided a valuable space for social interaction, dialogue, and exchange, fostering engagement among the different members of the DER community in an informal, relaxed, and collaborative atmosphere. Throughout the morning, the introduction of new Department members (both academic and non‑academic staff), the presentation of DER Passports to first‑year students, and the team‑building activities stood out, creating a participatory and enjoyable dynamic that strengthened closeness, trust, and team spirit among all participants.

Beyond its social dimension, DER_People reaffirmed itself as an intergenerational and interdisciplinary meeting space, highlighting the active involvement of the academic community and encouraging the joint development of ideas for the future of the Department.

The initiative concluded with a networking lunch, which allowed conversations initiated during the activities to continue and helped to strengthen personal and professional ties among students, faculty members, and staff in a friendly and welcoming environment.
