From April 14 to 17, 2025, the Department of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering (DER) at Instituto Superior Técnico once again welcomed secondary school students for another edition of the Ciências nas Férias program, held at the Alameda campus.

This 7th edition, during the Easter school break, offered participants a unique and free opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering. For four days, students had the chance to explore laboratories, take part in hands-on and interactive activities, meet researchers and Técnico students, and discover how engineering helps address today’s societal challenges.

In a dynamic, relaxed, and stimulating environment, the initiative aimed to spark interest in science and engineering careers, introduce students to university life, and demonstrate the real-world impact of engineering in everyday life.
