On June 19, 2026, the Department of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering (DER) will host another edition of the Alumni Dinner in Mining and Energy Resources Engineering.

This event aims to strengthen the connection between the Department and its Alumni by consolidating the former students’ network and fostering synergies among different generations of professionals trained in the field of mineral and energy resources.

The programme for the day also includes a particularly significant institutional moment: the ceremony conferring the title of Emeritus Professor on Professor Amílcar Soares, which will take place at 5:30 PM in the Main Hall of Instituto Superior Técnico. This distinction recognizes a career of excellence and a remarkable contribution to DER and to the University of Lisbon.
