DER Welcomes International Students from Around the World

This semester, the Department of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering (DER) is pleased to welcome 11 international exchange students to its Master's programmes in Geological and Mining Engineering (MEGM) and Energy Resources Engineering (MERE).

The students have joined Instituto Superior Técnico through the Erasmus+ and Outside Europe mobility programmes and represent eight different countries: China, Poland, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, and Norway.

The diversity of backgrounds and academic experiences brought by these students further strengthens DER’s international environment, fostering the exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and experiences on the global challenges facing the mineral and energy resources sectors.

International mobility plays an important role in higher education by encouraging cooperation between universities, promoting intercultural understanding, and preparing students to work in increasingly global and multidisciplinary contexts. For DER, welcoming students from around the world contributes to the development of a dynamic academic community and reinforces its commitment to excellence in international education.

We wish all incoming students a rewarding academic and personal experience during their time at Instituto Superior Técnico.

Welcome to Técnico and to DER! 🌍🎓
